MDP

MDP

Master Development Plan (MDP) is the ultimate objective of most of the full field integrated studies and investment assessment. One of the first steps for undertaking Master Planning is assessment of demands and type of industries/investments/employment like to come up at the park, assessment of potentials/resources/sensitivities and formulation of a vision & strategy for the chemical park with focus on international competitiveness and sustainability. In other words, MDP is a strategic document that outlines a vision to guide growth and development of a chemical park over the next decades. It is:

  • A process that defines competitive advantages about a chemical park and methods that could conserve, improve and enhance a chemical park’s productivity and quality.
  • A document that sets out how a particular area can worth, develop and redevelop into the future.
  • A high-level plan intended to set out objectives and strategies to manage development and change over time.

Overall, MDP is not just a layout plan but has much greater complexity and value. It is a challenge which leads to enhanced production and maximize net profit.

Roadmap

As the world looks to the manufacturing industry to drive national and global economic growth, experts are looking for new paradigms to make it happen.
Critical Issues of Roadmap in industries or chemical parks include:
1- Future phases
2- The Integration industrial units
3- Innovation
4- Updating Technologies
5- Determination system’s ability to tolerate discrete and continuous uncertainties (parks’ flexibility)
6- Next-Generation Manufacturing & the Changing Workforce

The roadmap is an inspiration for future research and project proposals in chemical parks and contains a number of proposed actions on the road forward to the described ideal concepts. However, road mapping is not a tool for predicting the future; it enables strategic planning and helps decision makers craft decisions that can achieve the most desirable outcome.
